Have you spent lots of time and energy on ‘letting go’ and find that things still haven’t changed much? Not all trauma is the same. The body itself stores excess adrenalin, stress and tension in the muscles and even the cells. Changing you thinking can’t release this stored excess.
Who can benefit from TRE?
Everyone can benefit from TRE. The shaking mechanism in the muscles is part of our natural behavior, therefore it is beneficial for:
Patti is a Certified TRE Practitioner. This modality helps even those suffering from PTSD.
This practice activates the reflex mechanism which allows the body to come back into a balanced and rested state. All without having to tell “your story”. TRE relaxes the anxiety of our minds. It elicits a very controlled and sustained release of extra adrenalin, and releases deep chronic muscular tension held in different parts of the body.
Quick – Can be practiced in well under 30 minutes.
TRE® emerged out of Dr. David Berceli’s work with large traumatized communities while living in Africa and the Middle East. His observation led him to understand that this natural shaking/vibrating response appears to be the body’s own built-in system for quieting down the brain and releasing muscular tension as a way of healing itself from chronic stress, tension and trauma.
TRE® is a safe and effective stress release technique for the excess adrenalin, stress and tension. The TRE process should not be used as a substitute for trauma recovery procedures of a medical or psychiatric/psychological nature. Individuals who have physical or psychological conditions that require strict regulation, individuals with fragile psychological defenses, a complex history of trauma or restricting physical or medical limitations should consult their medical practitioner or a Certified TRE Provider prior to performing these exercises.
DEEP INSIDE THE BODY
TRE relaxes the anxiety of our minds, by evoking a muscular shaking process in the body. It elicits the vibrating in a very controlled and sustained manner. When evoked, the body begins to release deep chronic muscular tension held within the body. The shaking often begins at the power center of the body, the Psoas Muscle. From this area, it reverberates throughout the entire body traveling along the spine, releasing deep chronic tension from the sacrum to the cranium.
When life asks more of you than you can handle, you’re stressed! Financial responsibilities, health challenges, work or school deadlines, parenting, care giving, and on and on and on. You are juggling too much and yet there is no end in sight. Being overstretched isn’t just uncomfortable; it leads to health problems, poor decision-making, and relationship difficulties. All of these, in turn, lead to more stress. It’s a vicious cycle.
But when you have adequate resources and feel strong and capable, you can competently manage those same responsibilities with ease and fluid grace.
Easy to learn and simple to practice, Tension Release Exercises (TRE®) are an immediately effective solution. Different than yoga, meditation, working out, or counseling, TRE® activates your body’s own natural rebalancing ability. With practice, you are empowered to release stress, feel relaxed in your body, and reclaim your full potential.
Learning this unique method with certified professionals ensures your safety and comfort. With expert guidance, the TRE® movement sequence is personalized for your body type and physical abilities.
In a private TRE session, you will be guided through a series of 7 exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex of tremor/shaking that calms down the nervous system. People often have a sense of peace and well-being after the process; and report less back pain, muscular tension and better sleep.
Community-based -Most effective when taught and practiced in group settings. Simple – No special equipment, location, or clothing needed. Adaptable to all body types, fitness levels, and health conditions.
Some people prefer to work in a group setting. The exercises are the same as for private sessions. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex of tremor/shaking that calms down the nervous system. People often have a sense of peace and wellbeing after the process; and report less back pain, muscular tension and better sleep.
Toxic stress and trauma are devastating and commonplace, especially in the lives of those served by non-profit organizations. The chaos that swirls around people stuck in trauma cycles is often all consuming and prevents sustained progress. And for those working in the non-profit trenches, it can be a painful and draining experience, leading to burnout and vicarious trauma.
Ironically, non-profit beneficiaries and staff both need services that release trauma, nourish resources, and sustain them to do the work. Non-profits know this and have long implemented self-care programming, offering everything from yoga to art therapy. All of these modalities are helpful, yet miss the core fact that our bodies already have a biological mechanism to release stress. Tension Release Exercises (TRE®) are designed to activate that mechanism, providing profound and lasting tension release. About TRE
TRE® is a simple, effective, self-empowering modality that releases trauma at its root. As an integrated somatic mindfulness practice, TRE® boosts capacity and increases resiliency. Meant to be taught in groups, TRE® is inherently community-based; and, because it accesses basic human physiology, it is always cross-culturally adaptive.
What is the biggest block to workplace wellness?
Stress! It cannibalizes productivity. Stress throws a monkey wrench into every aspect of an organization. Stress erodes physical health, cognitive capability, and emotional resilience, leading to a litany of workplace woes.
Businesses know this and are implementing wellness programs in record numbers. From smoking cessation, weight loss incentives, to fitness programs. Even programs that hone in on stress itself (yoga, meditation, etc) miss the core fact that our bodies already have a biological mechanism to release stress. Tension Release Exercises (TRE®) go straight to the root of the issue, by activating that mechanism. TRE® provides profound and lasting tension release, which increases the capacity for stress, increases resiliency and maximizes performance.
Simple to learn, easy to practice, TRE® is a powerful, evidence-informed solution to stress management. TRE® allows everyone to feel better and perform better in their work. With regular practice, the results multiply and are quantifiable on all levels including personal relationships.
What makes TRE® unique? Simple – No special equipment, location, or clothing needed. It is adaptable to all body types, fitness levels, and health conditions.
Quick – Can be practiced in well under 30 minutes.
Cost-effective – Goes directly to the root with greater downstream effects.
Can be taught in groups and then practiced independently.
Health Care Providers and First Responders –
Toxic stress and trauma are devastating and commonplace, including those who provide services, one on one. The chaos that swirls around people stuck in trauma cycles is often all consuming and prevents sustained progress. And for first responders and those working in the health care trenches, it can be a painful and draining experience, leading to burnout, vicarious trauma and diminished personal relationships.
About TRE® – It is a simple, effective, self-empowering modality that releases trauma at its root. It can be taught to individuals or in groups, TRE® is inherently community-based; and, because it accesses basic human physiology, it is always cross-culturally adaptive.
TRE has become the #1 modality to help those with Post Traumatic Stress.
